Taronga Zoo – take a lunch, catch the ferry from Circular Quay and the cable car up to the top entrance over the animal enclosures (open daily 9am-5pm, $44/adult, kids under 4 free; $117/adult for annual membership)
Manley Beach (supposed to be good for little kids) – Manley Wharf has nice harbor beach, ocean beach, and Wharf hotel has casual restaurant w/ great view (kids eat free M-Th 5:30-6:30 pm)

Mt. Kosciuszko – highest point in New South Wales (7300 ft) and all of Oz as well! Supposed to be a fairly easy 5-mi hike to summit. Same trip, we could also hit Australia’s highest toilet, at Rawson Pass, 6900 ft :)
